I noticed the Ask The DJ Root Element and so I clicked on it. It showed the message your guests can message you at and from that point on, everything was frozen; the mouse, couldn't even alt+tab to get away from 8.2 and finally had to hard power off the laptop. Also, it will not allow it to be unchecked in the Root Elements selection area. I went into options and highlighted it and hit delete which then showed it as unchecked in Root Elements yet it still appeared in the list.

I have that entry and know how to get to it. The problem is that I click on it and nothing happens, meaning it will not check nor uncheck that particular selection. If I click any of the others, they work just fine either appearing or disappearing from the root elements. When I simply click on Ask the DJ, it locks everything up to the point of having to hard power off the machine. It's almost like it is having trouble when trying to connect online to the service, and no it's not my internet, it is connect and running very well. I have used VDJ a very long time and usually figure out little things like this pretty quickly but I'm stumped on this one.
 
How can i uncheck that Ask The Dj from root elements? Don't need it now.

After updating have to shut down VDJ and open VDJ again. Then i can uncheck Ask the Dj from root elements.
 
Yes, noticed that when first released. You have to restart VDJ.

Happened previously on 8.1 with other root elements as well.
 
Noticed the same thing too with having to restart for changes to take place. That's certainly not acceptable when performing live!
 
Please check again with the latest Early Access build 3268.
Ask.the.Dj has been improved. Freeze should not occur now.
You now have 3 Right-click options for monitoring : off , always and when folder is focused.

Now it doesn't even work
 
Could you maybe be a little bit more specific?
