Good afternoon,
as the title states. I would like to consolidate 3 hard drives that I have been using for years into a big hard drive. I use mac, and I would like to maintain the play history of all the songs as I rely on that a lot to perform.
Thanks in advance

Just use VirtualDJ browser to perform your file operations (move files from one drive to another) and VrtualDJ will take care of the rest automatically.
Just to be on the safe side though, make sure each hard disk has a unique name until you're able to get your system working as you want.
(Having unique disk names is not strictly necessary, but it can save you of a lot of troubles)

That sounds like a good approach. Thanks a lot.

What you can do is set up a RAID configuration or just use a big external drive and manually move your music over. If you’re using iTunes or Apple Music, it should keep your play history as long as you copy over the library files correctly.

@phantomDeejay, I tried this approach. I copied the files over to the new drive using VirtualDJ and it works fine. I can see my firstseen and playcount correctly on the new drive. There is a problem though, as soon as I open VirtualDj without the original drives, the songs are discovered as new songs and VDJ does not remember anything about the songs, cue points, playcount and firstseen are gone. How can I make it stick without those other drives present?

Permissions issue on the new drive perhaps? Is there a VirtualDJ folder and database file on it?

Yes, it is a new drive, but there is a VirtualDJ Folder with a database.xml and other things inside the VirtualDJ folder.

When you are copying (and not moving) files, some functions (like updating playlists and history files with the new location of the songs) are not getting executed.
This means that your VirtualDJ installation, for the most part is looking to find the songs in their original locations on the old drives.
You should had moved the files instead, as this makes VirtualDJ to update the database and all playlist/history and red folders entries to match the new location of the files.

I was trying the safer route. I will start over by moving the files instead of copying. Once again, thanks for your help. Is this documented anywhere? I would love to learn more about advanced features such as these by reading official documentation.
